Ethanology
"A Day with the Distiller" experience for four? The winning bid would be treated to a day at the distillery with our head distiller Geri. This 4-6 hour experience for four (4) would be scheduled on a Saturday when we are distilling one of our award winning, and locally sourced grain-to-glass spirits. Each facet of our process will be explained in granular detail and guests will be encouraged to participate in the distilling process.
A Day with the Distiller Experience Includes:
- Thorough explanation of our local farming ethos, hyper-local supply chain, and grain-to-glass process.
- Explanation of sensory determinations and how 'cuts' are made on the still in real time.
- Explanation of scientific determinations, organic chemistry, and molecular physics.
- Education on still operation, design and application.
- Education on substrate selection, yeast selection, barrel selection, and distillation method when designing a spirit.
- Explanation of proofing and gauging of finished new make spirits.
- Explanation of esterification and barrel maturation.
- Tasting of six flagship, two black labels and one Distiller's series spirits. Nine spirits tastings in total.
- Tour of our state of the art distillation facility.
- One (1) craft cocktail of your choice for each guest.
- One (1) charcuterie and cheese board for guests to enjoy while visiting.
